Hello! My name is Patty Grider and I am a certified birth and bereavement doula®, and a placenta encapsulator.
The majority of families today are receiving care based on obstetrical tradition. This is where care is given based on how they traditionally do things. Parents go along with these decisions, not realizing there ARE options in birth and I aim to inform parents of their rights and alternatives to some of the actions in labor and birth. I believe that any mother who desires labor support should be able to afford it, so I offer a discounted rate to accommodate lower income families, who may be at a greater risk of interventions. I am plus size encouraging too!

As your Doula, I am committed to providing you the care you desire, whether it be birth preparation only – giving you the tools you need to comfortably birth with your partner and provider or if you prefer, the full birth package where I provide continuous emotional and physical support before, during and after your birth.

I am aware there are many other people you can chose to have in your room during one of the most memorable and special moments of your life, so I appreciate every family that allows me the privilege of supporting them.

I LOVE being a doula.
I love it because I am entrusted with a woman when she is most vulnerable and sometimes frightened.
I love that I have the ability to make a difference in a woman’s birth experience.
I love it because I watch a life take its first breath.
I get to see the unconditional love in a mothers’ eyes, love’s reward.
I love to empower women and see them find the strength that is within themselves.
I am a doula because THIS job is so rewarding to me.

Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta Encapsulation has been around for years, but has recently been gaining attention, thanks to celebrities as well as mothers doing their own research to determine if consuming their placenta is right for them*.  I charge a flat $200 for encapsulation and have additional options you may add at no extra charge.
*The benefits of placenta encapsulation have not been proven by research and only anecdotal information is available.
